How to measure a cushion cover
Remove the insert and place the cover flat without stretching the fabric. Measure from one seam line to the opposite seam for both width and height. Follow the sewn line rather than the outermost fabric edge and do not add the zip allowance.

- Record both values for rectangular covers.

Choosing between 43x43 and 45x45
The sizes are close, but the measured insert should guide the choice. Automatically forcing a 45 x 45 cm insert into every 43 x 43 cm cover is not suitable: insert firmness, fabric flexibility and seam construction all affect the fit. Following the product recommendation and matching the listed size is the safest approach.
Creating a full, balanced shape
A very soft or under-filled insert may not reach the corners. Choose a filling that distributes evenly and recovers its shape. Fit the two furthest corners first, then guide the remaining corners into place and support the filling away from the zip as it closes.
Arranging sizes on a sofa
Place larger cushions at the back and smaller accents in front on a broad sofa. Two foundation cushions may be enough for a compact two-seater. On a corner sofa, varying two square sizes with one rectangular accent often feels more natural than repeating a single size.
